I am a post-doctoral fellow at the Université du Québec à Montréal and at the Centre de Recherche en Agro-alimentaire de Mirabel. My research focuses on how the environment shapes the spread of information in social groups. I am interested in how species and populations differ in social learning, social information use, and communication signals. Through field and laboratory experiments, I investigate ultimate and proximate causes of information transfer. Currently, I focus on sexual pheromones of the tarnished plant bug, a major crop pest. I investigate the function, mechanisms, ontogeny, and evolution of sexual communication and how we can use this knowledge to develop sustainable control methods to replace insecticides in agriculture.
